Testimonials “An Unforgettable Bridal Shower Luncheon at the Gelston House”
Our son is getting married in June, 2009 and I wanted to host a bridal shower that would be special for our beautiful daughter-in-law to be. I remembered how pretty the river location and setting of the Gelston House was from an anniversary party I had attended several years ago. June Shea is the most helpful, gracious and friendly banquet manager. I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She was extremely prompt with responding back to me whether it was general questions I had or forwarding menu options via email. It was extremely mooth sailing for the entire planning portion of the bridal shower!
On the day of the bridal shower (May 16, 2009), everything from "soup to nuts" was perfect. The tables were beautifully decorated in the gorgeous river-view room and as soon as the guests arrived, they were immediately and graciously taken care of by the extremely attentive and friendly serving staff. The buffet luncheon was absolutely DELICIOUS, with many of the guests still ranting about the food and the staff a week later! I have received numerous compliments and thank you cards about how beautifully everything was done at the Gelston House.
Thank you SO much to June, the wonderful waitstaff and the Gelston House, in general for making our day absolutely PERFECT. This was truly a memorable event for our family and friends, made all the more special by the consummate professionalism of everyone at Gelston House. Sincerely,

My family and I had tickets to see a show at the opera house and decided to have lunch at the Gelston House. It was charming - reminded me of the plantations down south. Service was impeccable - you must ask for Moses, who was extremely helpful and friendly.

| “Wonderful for an elegant wedding”
My wife and I recently held our wedding (about 55 guests) at The Gelston House. Our day could not have been more perfect!
The Gelston House was a perfect location, the setting on the scenic Connecticut River next to the Goodspeed Opera House was a perfect backdrop to our ceremenoy. We actually got married on the covered patio (referred to as the Beer Garden) and our guests were able to enjoy the ceremony while looking out on the river and catching amazing breezes.
The food was incredible (rave reviews from all of our guests!) from the impressive appetizers to the elegantly prepared dinner meals. Hats off to the chefs!
The staff at the Gelston House, from the owners Benny and Iso, the banquet manager June, to all of the wait staff (many whom are family members) made us and our guests feel at home on our very special day.
We have found our new favorite restaurant!

I recently had a party for over fifty people at he Gelston House. The owners,staff, waiters and waitresses were the best. They went out of their way to be helpful and all had great personalities.
The food was superb and presented fantastically.
I had people from all over the east coast, many corporate types, who were very impressed with everything, including the picturous setting on the Connecticut river.
If you want an enjoyable experiance, try the Gelston House. It is a great place to go before or after an evening at the nearby Goodspeed Opera House or to have a have a great party for family and friends.
The owners, Iso and Ben have created a beautiful place for all to share.
| “Just a Wonderful Place to Be”
I was going through East Haddam with my family looking for a place to eat and as we finished crossing the bridge we came across a beautiful restaurant; The Gelston House. At first we weren't sure if we should go in or not but we decided to anyways. As soon as we went in, we were greeted by a cheerful hostess. Our coats were checked and we were seated by the window. The view was breath taking. Our server was a very nice lady who made sure we were comfortable. When it came time to order our dinner, I ordered Salmon and Asparagus. It was so good. Each bite that I took melted in my mouth. My husband had the Prime Rib (which was a special) and he said it was the most delicious steak he has ever had a restaurant. My kids ordered cheeseburgers and they were cooked to perfection. The service was quick and clean and I felt as if I was at home. If you want to go out anywhere I highly recomend The Gelston House. It was the best meal ever!!!

My wife and I went with some out of state relatives to the Gelston House in East Haddam and had a wonderful time. We were all celebrating our son's acceptance to college. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. We were seated in the main dining room which has a spectacular view of the Ct. River. My family is looking forward to going back soon.
